General evaluation

4 of 5 (4/5)

Remember when you bought a bike and used it for everything? Many machines these days are built for a specific niche or carefully defined purpose, but the adaptable Honda NC750X has a good old-fashioned do-it-all status.

Handling is easy, with an agile chassis that eats up any pavement. Ergonomics are excellent, with the NC doing the Honda trick of being comfortable no matter what your build. Flexible and extremely efficient, the twin-cylinder engine makes a great commuter bike with the optional DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). And with built-in storage bikes, there's nothing more practical.

Obviously, the 750 wouldn't be the first choice for a summer day at the track. Its engine doesn't rev a lot or produce a lot of power, it has single-disc brakes, and the ride height isn't accurately measured in fathoms. These points led to complaints from some biased sports journalists when the bike was released as theNC700X in 2012; However, the NC's affordability (£5,950), ease of use, and ability to be a pain-free commuter, powerful removal tool, or happy toy for sunny afternoons has seen it outperform the UK's evergreen Fireblade . In fact, it was a huge hit across Europe. And being the dirtiest, springiest, and most refined NC750X of 2014 put the lowly Honda back on the bestseller list.

Once you find you're going at the same speed no matter how big or powerful the bike is, the NC's versatility and value make a lot of sense. The joy of ownership easily makes up for any lack of enthusiasm.

Honda NC750X facelift in 2016

In 2016, the NC750X received a complete redesign. Big changes to the suspension, dual-clutch transmission (DCT), front brakes, exhaust and muffler, and styling resulted in a totally improved bike that was still easy to ride, but a lot more fun. It also looks better and matches well with the rest of Honda's adventure bike lineup.

Honda NC750X updated again in 2019

The NC750X received a minor facelift in 2019, adding Honda's latest HSTC (Adjustable Traction Control) system, as well as minor improvements such as an increased rev limit to 900 rpm and slightly different styling.

This bike has been replaced byHonda NC750X 2021.

Honda NC750X Endurance Test

In late 2016/early 2017 we used an NC750X as a long-term test bike across Europe and underwent a major overhaul. We found him practical, kind, and funny, but a little too grown-up in some ways. We also don't like the new display on post-facelift models.

It's not the flashiest chassis configuration. You won't find forks full of adjusters, a rear shock with remote memory from a certain gold-loving Swedish team, or huge brake calipers with an impressive but pointless model code. And although the NC is part of Honda's Adventure lineup, it doesn't have the wheel offset or ground clearance for true dirt-based shenanigans.

Honda NC750X (2014-2021) Review | Speed, specifications and prices (4)

However, that doesn't mean the NC750X is easy. Don't be fooled by the lazy "budget" label: the Showa's "dual flex valve" forks' spring rates and damping and preload-adjustable rear shock are a perfect match for general use, Honda is very lucky to have a smallpox absorb. - Lane marked as a soft swan on the Autobahn. For a $7,000 bike, balancing ride comfort and handling control is almost a choice.

And the 750 is very easy to drive. It rocks with the kind of easy-to-roll balance that only the Honda seems to have, hiding most of its 450 pounds with the weight seemingly carried between its ankles. The chassis spins under you like one of those fancy Dyson vacuum cleaners. The NC is easy to navigate city traffic jams or gracefully navigate a cascading state highway, and with low-profile geometry and a wide wheelbase, you'll always be on the safe side.

All of this is supported by ergonomic excellence that gives the driver a lively sense of control and confidence. The Honda's modest 800mm seat height helps too.

There's only one disc at each end (both cut from the same material to save cost, hence the irregular shape), but a strong push from the twin-piston front caliper lets it grip the 320mm rotor with just enough determination. .

4 of 5 (4/5)

Developed on the basis of Honda bodies, the 745cc parallel twin engine is essentially half the size of a Jazz vehicle. It's not an adrenaline rush; With 51 lb.ft of thrust at 4,500 rpm, it only produces 58 hp at 6,000 rpm. There is also a legal A2 version.

  • Related:The best A2 motorcycle driving license

Redline is 7,000 rpm, but boost evaporates above 5,000 rpm or so, and it's a much happier engine, delivering brisk boost in its midrange. In the highest gear, you can't get out of slow corners, and it's obvious when you're weighed down by a burly passenger and a luggage crammed with spare parts. However, the NC is certainly smooth and surprisingly upbeat without screaming about it and noticeably meatier than the previous NC700.

It's smooth too, thanks to dual balancer shafts, but that doesn't mean it lacks character. The parallel twin has a crank with a 270˚ firing range, giving the feel and sound of a 90˚ V-twin, with each cylinder being controlled slightly differently to improve responsiveness.

Honda NC750X (2014-2021) Review | Speed, specifications and prices (5)

The NC750's true asset is efficiency. It's economical and more, with many owners returning 80mpg or better. This also happens during normal driving without hesitation. Weak power and comparatively modest displacement mean you'll rev a lot in the 750, but that really helps with economy. Throttle losses are a big factor in four-stroke fuel economy, the engine has to work hard just to suck in fuel after a partially closed throttle (this is one of the reasons small displacement bikes are efficient, as they usually are wide open everywhere). . With a single 36mm throttle body, the NC has the fuel ratings of a small capacity switch.

The six-speed gearbox is unforgettable in its ease of use. Honda also offers DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) for an additional £700 with fully automatic or manual gear changes at the push of a button. Driving in D mode is a little apprehensive when shifting briefly into the highest gear, but there are three S modes to increase sportiness, with the ECU more willing to hold revs and then shift sooner. On a poor country road, select gears as you would. It's a smart system that makes the NC570 great for two people and reduces fatigue on long trips.

Reliability and build quality

Next: value

5 of 5 (5/5)

It really is a very well done thing. The build quality is extremely good with a first class finish and the maintenance schedule is perfectly acceptable at 8000 miles for a minor overhaul and 16000 miles for a major valve overhaul.

Reliability is excellent - there are plenty of well-used NC workhorses that have driven miles to Jupiter and back with no problems, and the model has a solid reputation for reliability. A little anti-corrosion fluid is needed to keep fasteners, brake banjos and other small parts from growing in the winter, but that's true for almost all bikes. OurHonda NC750X Owner Reviewsdemonstrate high satisfaction.

Value x Competitors

Up next: team

4 of 5 (4/5)

Honda's pricing doesn't make the NC750X seem as valuable as it did when the original 700 model came out, but it's still extremely competitive. Especially considering the quality you get for the money - the Honda has better workmanship and class thanSuzuki's Less Refined V-Strom 650, and softer and more economical thanA powerful Tracer 700 da Yamaha.

Group 11 insurance puts the Honda in the same class as the livelier Tracer and two above the sporty V-Stream, though the total cost of ownership (fuel, tyres, chain and sprockets, maintenance, depreciation) should mean the NC it's also cheaper to operate and greater value.

equipment

4 of 5 (4/5)

The specs are good for a bike in this price range and in this part of the market. The NC has four riding modes, ABS, adjustable traction control, LED lights, a dashboard with enough data for most people, an "emergency brake signal" that activates the rear hazard lights under heavy braking, and Optional DCT. And, of course, you get Honda quality.

The screen isn't adjustable, but it's certainly effective for its size, and the passenger grab bars are adequate. But what separates the Honda from its competitors is the fuel tank, or rather its location. The 14.1 liter reservoir is stored under the seats, with padding under a folding passenger seat, leaving room for flat-mounted storage above the engine. The lockable 23-litre "dummy tank" is big enough to carry a full-face adventure helmet or fish-and-chip dinners for a family of eight.

  • 2014: Honda introduces a new platform built around a super-efficient 51hp, 670cc twin-cylinder engine that's incredibly easy to drive. There are three variants: the adventure-style NC700X and entry-level NC700S with built-in storage, as well as the scooter-style Integra that manages to combine the worst parts of a bike and a stepper.
  • 2016: Update makes the 700 the NC750X with more power and even smoother running thanks to a 745cc twin engine with 54hp. There's a styling update, a bigger screen and lower seat, better colors, a bigger storage compartment, as well as updated front forks, updated modes and a better running DCT option.
  • 2019: Minor tweaks including the introduction of adjustable traction control.
  • 2021:exchanged bike.

other versions

  • There is also a naked version called the NC750S, and the platform is used on the Integra scooter-like device and the glorious X-ADV adventure scooter.

The NC750X is a serious workhorse, but a damn good one, the only bike I've ever gone back and bought twice. The DCT gearbox is just fantastic, as is the frunk. It is also worth noting the quick starts at traffic lights, which do not even require Sport mode. I think it would outperform any vehicle in that regard, which I think is an important safety feature.

A great bike for the real world. After a series of bikes over a liter, I was concerned that the NC750 would not be satisfying; However, I also knew that 99% of the time I rode below 130 km/h... more often around 60... if I find the bike more than adequate... I admit that I need to plan my overtaking more carefully Watch out, but other than what I've done, there's plenty of power to have fun with the bike, and combined with the low center of gravity and capable (though unspectacular) suspension, it's pretty good for navigating a good twisty road. The practicality and economy are tremendous... I never cared much about mpg in the past and I wouldn't buy a bike just for good mpg... but I've averaged over 80 mpg over the last 13,000 miles (over the 9 months), including tours of Wales and Scotland, I have really come to appreciate it. My only gripe would be the front suspension, which can be stiff and unresponsive, but the bike never loses shape.

handling and braking 4 of 5

I've upgraded the front suspension and it's now an excellent all-rounder that does everything I need it to do... it would be bad on a track day but for UK roads it does most things well. The lower seat height on the 2021 model means I'm losing some legroom (I'm 6ft tall) AND the screen needs to be a few inches bigger, even for taller passengers. The seating arrangement for the rear passengers is adequate, but there is not much space and my passenger can rest in the armchair after an hour

Motor 4 of 5

For a twin, the engine is quite smooth... everything gets more interesting above 4K revs and hits the rev limiter soon after, but in this "power band" the engine is a peach... never feels stressed and ready to shake the gears a bit, then you make surprisingly quick progress. I ride with guys on 1000cc and 1200cc bikes and I haven't had any real problems keeping up with them so far. The first two gears are quite long and 6th in particular is a bit oversteer... to get decent top end throttle response you need to go 65mph or so. I've seen 100+ mph but it actually starts to get a little windy after 90... progressing instead of accelerating.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

I bought the bike secondhand with only 500 miles on the clock and have had it on 13,000 miles since March 2022...it's immaculate. I ride in the winter, though not every day, and I'm curious to see how the bike handles. This. So far, no signs of corrosion or wear and tear, and for a relatively low-budget bike, the quality seems high.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

8000 mile maintenance intervals are reasonable and I need 2 overhauls a year... It's an easy bike to work on and changing the oil and brake pads are easy do-it-yourself tasks. As mentioned above the fuel economy is a revelation and as I do around 15,000 miles a year it's a significant savings compared to previous bikes which typically managed around 45/50mpg

equipment 4 of 5

I was lucky the previous owner had already installed several extras that I appreciated...bumpers, headlights, fenders, fender extension. It's still disappointing that a bike like this doesn't have a standard center stand, so I fitted one and also added heated grips...a must if your goal is fall/winter riding. The OEM tires were Metzler Tourance and gave excellent grip in both wet and dry... I was disappointed to only do 5000 miles so my tires came loose and I have since switched to Michelin Road 6...my number one choice of all mine bikes in the past and they matched the NC very well...the rear lasted just over 8000 miles and the front looks like it should last about 10km or a little more

Shopping experience:I bought it from a dealer and got a decent trade-in for my old bike. I paid £7000 for the bike compared to £7849 new but the bike was like new, had a number of extras and at the time had to wait 4-6 months for new bikes.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

Historically, Honda has always been reliable. So far no problems, 10 years from now I'll let you know (my previous bike, a Transalp, still ran without problems after 15 years).

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Maintenance intervals are longer, so significantly less has to be done. I just follow the service manual or once a year if I don't do the miles (COVID year 2020). So far I don't need to do anything extra. Also very cheap to insure.

equipment 4 of 5

Good stuff, but Honda brand is a bit pricey. I needed a taller screen, Givi is no good as a dirty handlebar. Local company in Weymouth built and installed one for me 🙂. I just received a top case to keep the bike "slim". It's much easier to filter this way. Extra good dash bars and lights. I'm on my third Scottish Oiler, but that's another story.

Brilliant at what it does, just be realistic, it's a bike with a purpose and that purpose isn't breakneck speeds, instinctive action or participating in the Dakar Rally. But as a traveler's workhorse, it takes a few beatings. Honda quality and great driving pleasure. Perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike.

handling and braking 4 of 5

Braking is good and I never had a moment where I was afraid of hitting a car. ABS works silently and you hardly notice it. Suspension is good for the price, but I found the 2016 and current 2019 to be a little stiff, especially up front. I installed matris cartridges and emulators with bias adjustment, they made a huge difference, I highly recommend this mod. I left the rear shock alone for now.

Motor 5 of 5

Great dual drive, easy to steer but still gets you to the ton easily when you feel more energetic (on a track day of course) :) Maintenance is easy and never needs topping up with oil. The gears are slippery and positive, but chain tension is important if you want to avoid problems when shifting into neutral.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

Well-armed bike with smart design details and lots of useful accessories to let you travel the world with confidence, knowing this bike will get you back home. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is that the paint on the swingarm is a little thin (I now own 2 of these bikes and have ridden them 30,000 miles) causing it to chip and rust around the rear axle. Also, the paint on the plastic around the dummy tank where the legs rub is a little worn. However, OEM drive chains don't last long and Honda items make many good aftermarket options.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Fantastic value overall. Cycling costs in today's £25,000 sportbike market are excellent and improving with easily achievable averages of 70mpg (I ride 40 miles a day all year round on a mixture of A-sided roads and dual carriageways. maintenance are long and costs reasonable.

equipment 5 of 5

The helmet storage in the trunk is awesome. The panel is not TFT, but it is clear, easy to read in all lighting conditions and has all the information you need. I installed a bunch of extras including luggage, hand guards, roll bars, headlamps, heated grips, fender extensions, bigger disc, Puig rear fenders and wide Puig footpegs. OEM tires are good in the dry but if you buy a model with traction control they are terrible in the wet but hopefully more used buys should have replaced them. The 2019 TC models have the same OEM tires, but fear not - the TC works great.

There's not much to complain about this bike unless you want the best of everything in one package. But then you would have chosen exotic Italian, right? Sure, the brakes, handling, power, and build quality are all good, but nothing special. Everything about the bike is very fitting (in a good way) and well thought out and just plain fun to own and ride. All that except the damn seat, which seems to be tilted so you slide forward with every bump and after an hour it gets a little awkward and uncomfortable. It is very confident in corners and moves well in gears when needed.

handling and braking 4 of 5

The seat on the mian is an issue for me and I will switch it at some point. But until then, an hour or so is enough. Overall, the seating position is very comfortable upright with a slight forward tilt.

Motor 4 of 5

Power is light throughout the rev range, but adequate if you're looking to shift early or if you're pushing the rev limiter.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

There are some signs of corrosion on the frame and forks. More than you would normally expect, despite having been in the garage all of its life. But a little attention to cleanliness sorts that out. Reliability is what you expect from Honda - bulletproof.

Fuel economy is the best feature of this bike. I'm getting over 60m per gallon and if you step on the gas lightly you'll get a lot more.

Surprisingly a lot of fun to drive despite the lack of sheer altitude. The engine is quiet and sounds good, with good response despite the long stroke. Very practical and easy to use, super complete, unless you like trackdays. Super cheap. DCT works fine, sometimes needs a bit of fine-tuning e.g. For example if you decide to put it in full gear at 40mph at the bottom of a hill in D mode, but it's never an issue. Switching to S mode makes the bike more fun while still consuming fuel. Fairly difficult to manoeuvre, but feels nimble enough on the move.

handling and braking 4 of 5

Comfortable to sit and position, the screen is the perfect balance between taking enough wind pressure and still being silent. The suspension is a bit clunky (compared to previous bikes I've owned, albeit more expensive ones), and the front brake, while always powerful enough, could have been more progressive. They need new pads regularly, but they are easy to replace.

Motor 5 of 5

I suppose 5 stars for a 50hp low-revving engine on a bike seems overrated, but it's actually a very good unit, even if, like me, you have much more powerful bikes. D steering can be a bit bumpy and tedious on hilly roads, but S modes or manual mode will help you with that.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

Good quality. The metal box rocker is clearly a budget item, but it's holding up very well. Some paint is coming off the engine, radiator and exhaust. Not fantastic but still holds up better than my 2 previous BMWs and also no breakdowns (also unlike my 2 previous BMWs)

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

The DCT NC750x is a fantastic bike that lets you enjoy the ride and keep your sanity without worrying about changing gears. You don't feel like you're on a glorified moped either! As a 5'2 female, it was lowered to fit me, but it wasn't easy to scrape the side brace to fit. It's on the heavier side, but that's only noticeable when dismounting and maneuvering.

handling and braking 4 of 5

It's a wonderful ride, but after a few hours you need a break because your butt starts to hurt. As it is a Sports Tourer, the riding position is more upright and tolerates the back and shoulders.

Motor 4 of 5

The bike has excellent power delivery and can definitely get off a line quickly. In sport mode, you stay longer in a gear and therefore can accelerate better. In normal drive mode, you can get to fifth if you're going uphill at 30mph, which is pretty slow, but you can shift gears with the paddles.

It's a Honda, very easy to maintain, oil filter and oil very easy to change. Pestles are easy to manufacture. Shifting gears was clumsy after the first 1000 miles, but we found on the internet how to easily reset the gearbox and it's been very smooth again. Why the hell do you need all the sport and traction control modes? I'm guessing these were feedback dynamometers for Goldwing or Honda they just do it because they can. Frank is great. The only criticism is that the seats are a little hard.

handling and braking 4 of 5

As mentioned above, the seat is a little hard, but that's a minor issue. Super in city and city traffic, super in road traffic, on traffic islands, traffic lights and intersections, you are always in the right gear with the dct. Very agile and great on back roads. A center stand is mandatory for cleaning and adjusting the chain. The switch is high quality and easy to use, the lights are good. The frunk is practical, spend the day on the bike and on the way home stop at the office to buy a four pack, put it in the frunk to round off a great day.

In my opinion it is the cheapest bike on the market. If I had to point out something I don't really like, I think at least the pre-facelift version doesn't have enough torque for two. Also, there is some corrosion in places and both main keys are bent from 50,000 km so I have to make a copy of the original as it appears to be made of very soft metal. It's comfortable, very, very fuel efficient, and perfect for general use and everyday commuting. Handling is excellent, the brakes work perfectly, except when you are in the Alps - there they got too hot and after a week I had to buy new brake pads because they wear out so quickly. But I would definitely recommend the bike.

Bought 2 years ago with 4,000 km on it. I didn't give the standard bike a 5 out of 5 due to the bad rear shock and uncomfortable seat (painful after 50 miles). The damper was replaced with a Nitron unit and both seats were replaced by Shad. I'm only 5 feet 7 inches tall, so I installed dogbones for ducking and a 750S center stand. I just got back from a 1300 mile trip with two people to France where the bike performed great. The DCT system is great but needs a reset after about 1500 miles to stay fluid. Despite the weight, the low center of gravity makes it easy to move the bike in and out of the garage. When I got home in the dark and rain last week, it was clear how bad the headlight is, so I'm going to install headlights. Overall, the finish is good, but not as good as the Hondas in the 90s. A good enough bike for me to keep for a few more years.

Easy handling and good handling like the low center of gravity. It's not the fastest bike in the world (I own a Street Triple R myself), but I mainly bought it to take my wife as a passenger and it's great for that. I kept squeezing the rev limiter for the first few days, but now that you're used to it, you need to be in the right gear (the Triumph pulls hard from 30mph in sixth). After about 500 miles I learned it, and when I did I found a good bike to ride. Minor complaints, no storage support so I installed one, screen isn't the best after about 70 so will probably be replaced soon. Annoying horn and turn signals in the wrong place, watch Honda. In general, if you expect more from this bike, you're riding the wrong bike.

5 of 5 I am delighted with my 2021 NC750X DCT.

Execution:DCT

Also:2021

Big improvement over my previous 2017 NC750X DCT, more dynamic performance all around, more comfort, nice thin design, lower seat height, nice LED lights and better dashboard, great bike, very smooth engine with great Effortless, lightweight low- and mid-range torque. High speed cruising, one of the most relaxed bikes on the market. Definitely a bike to recommend.

handling and braking 4 of 5

Ride quality is generally pretty good, but I find the forks a little stiff on the terribly bumpy roads we have in Hampshire. Handling is very good and gives confidence, comfort is very good, fairing wind protection is good, I changed the screen to a Puig touring screen which is great. Brakes are very good despite being a single front disc.

Motor 5 of 5

Wonderfully smooth and vibration free at all engine speeds, you'll be riding 80mph at 4000rpm all day with power reserves, the DCT gives a very relaxed ride and the modes are very good, the sport mode transforms the bike on a really cool machine. different with enthusiasm to turn faster and accelerate, have fun on curvy roads, user mode is amazing and very easy to use. For me, a 60-year-old rider who doesn't want high-revving sport bikes, nothing I couldn't dislike. I like strong, easy torque at low and mid-range.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

No major issues or glitches so far, my bike has had a recall to fix a very minor ECU software lockup issue that was happening with several bikes until the new ride by wire throttle was activated, fun to ride and 100% reliable. As with all bikes these days, regular ACF50 treatment is a must.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

First service to 600 miles cost £150, next service in July. Gasoline mileage averages 70-75mpg but will perform better if driven smoothly, up to 100mpg can be achieved, my 2017 managed 99mpg in moderate touring use!

equipment 5 of 5

The DCT is great because I have arthritis in my clutch hand, it has extended my racing career indefinitely. Puig Touring fender, Pyramid fender and fender extension, Triumph fork, R&G neoprene rear shock cover, Shad SH58 extendable box, LED headlight. Metzeler Tourance tires are good, but eventually they will be Michelin PR5 or 6.

Given that every decision is a compromise based on a variety of issues, this is a good compromise. A very good compromise. It is lightweight and can be processed very well. It's fast, but it won't lose your driver's license any time soon, and it's not designed to scare you if you speed too much. Its economical fuel consumption makes its operation economical. It's very comfortable. The build quality is high, it's a Honda. The only criticism is that the main support is not a standard accessory. The more I ride, the more I like this bike. Perfect for enjoying the Scottish Highlands.

handling and braking 5 of 5

The single front disc is surprisingly good. The bike is comfortable all day.

Motor 5 of 5

Simple and efficient. While I miss the raw power of my previous 100+ horsepower bikes, the reality is that I can only legally go 60mph on Highland roads, so in reality this gives you everything I need. There is still enough power to pass slower traffic safely.

Install a fender to protect the swingarm and apply some grease to the undersides to protect it. I've only had it since July 2021 and I've already put 1700 miles on it. Being a Honda (my sixth since 1977) I don't expect any problems.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

equipment 5 of 5

Windshield is good after 4 cylinder naked bikes. Low fuel consumption means you don't have to worry about running out of gas between refueling stops in Highland. Excellent multipurpose utility bike. Path; war Horse; Route. Pleasant aesthetics - very good ergonomics - for its price this bike will not disappoint. The mechanics are reliable; and easy maintenance. Brakes and suspension are basic but work well. Economy is this bike's trump card... 80 mpg can easily be achieved. At £7,500 for a manual clutch version, it's a seriously pragmatic purchase. The electronics are working again: the LCD screen is easy to read in all lighting conditions, and the engine modes are a bonus in this price range. Overall, a bike you could ride every day. A bike you use for shopping or without a license (warped storage compartment). A bike that could easily make a second car obsolete. What's not to like? The worst features are the low screen and the lack of a central easel. Cruise control will arrive in the next iteration around 2023-4.

handling and braking 4 of 5

When commuting, the bicycle is better. It's a men's/women's bike that thrives on its utilitarian DNA. Like the SUV, this is a very convenient form of two-wheeled transport. A bike for everyday shopping or a trip through the south of France. The suspension can be a little stiff, but the trade-off is excellent feedback and confidence-inspiring handling in all conditions. Overall comfort is satisfactory, but the seat is firm rather than soft. The NC can be ridden for a few hours before requiring a rest afterwards.

Motor 4 of 5

This motorcycle owes its origin to the legendary Honda Jazz minus two cylinders. The engine is almost diesel-like in its torque output and rev ceiling. Power and torque ratings are not what this engine is all about: the fact is, this engine is more than adequate for most situations. This bike goes over 80 miles per hour all day. If you don't salivate below 10,000 rpm, this isn't the bike for you. There's something very satisfying about sitting at 3,000 rpm at 60 mph.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

This is my 6th Honda NC in a row. I've owned every model from 2012 to 2021. I haven't had any mechanical issues with any of the bikes other than replacing consumables. None of my bikes corroded or showed obvious signs of premature wear. The overall build quality is exemplary throughout the model's development.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

The running costs for this bike are on the lower end of the spectrum. Oil and filter changes are easy for all but the clumsy. Basic service at a Honda dealership £120.00. As expected, insurance costs are minimal. Total cost of ownership is low: and because the valve train consists of a simple bolt and nut, maintenance is easy.

equipment 4 of 5

As standard, this bike delivers performance in almost every category. Moving the bike is a breeze; as well as handling and comfort on the go. The NC meets its design specifications with exemplary efficiency. Forget sheer horsepower numbers - forget macho horsepower/torque numbers - this is a two-wheeled Honda Jazz. drive it and enjoy it for what it is. With an NC there are no complaints. Accessories should include installing a center stand, taller screen, and heated grips. Metzler tires on most but not all NCs are great. Avoid bikes that come with outdated Dunlop tires.

Shopping experience:The shopping experience depends on whether you are buying new or used. If you're getting a new one, try trading a centerstand and heated grips as part of the deal. If you are buying a used one, see your Honda dealer for a complete maintenance history. Check all consumables, especially chains and sprockets, for signs of wear. Otherwise, these bikes are safe for bunkers. There are motorcycles with a record of over 200 km that continue to work like new.

Execution:DCT

Also:2021

Annual service costs:£100

The best thing about this bike is its sheer practicality. It's easy to drive in DCT form, but quite sporty when the manual controls are engaged. The worst thing for me is probably the lack of wind protection. This bike is perfect for the more mature rider who is no longer interested in wheelies and track days, preferring to enjoy the road and countryside with a dash of throwaway thrills.

handling and braking 5 of 5

As already mentioned, the quality of the ride depends on the driver. Sporty types will find the suspension a little stiff at speed over waves. Keep in mind that most NC riders are of a certain age (the forums bear this out) and I'm sure that group of riders will be more than happy with how they performed. The seat is comfortable enough to ride for over an hour. My lady is accompanying me and doesn't complain, at least not about the bike!

Motor 5 of 5

I love dct. It takes a little getting used to when it comes to a conventional bike. Sometimes the rear brake drags when skidding. Trouble-free gear shifting. Additionally, the driver can select gear changes using the paddles or by opening the throttle, which downshifts one or two gears, similar to kickdown on an automatic car.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

The build quality is typical Honda. There are some clasps and clips that can rust, but it's not a big deal to keep track.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

The first inspection cost just over 100€, the following services will not be very different and depending on the mileage, in my case only once a year.

Obviously "Frunk" is the best default feature. The lack of any wind protection is the worst thing in my opinion. I installed a Puig tall screen, Shad trunk, hand guards and some Zecken accessories like the Pyramid fender extensions. I still ride the bike with the tires that came with it, but I change them when I use them to what people use on the forums.

I'm giving it a 5 simply because it's a versatile bike, as the reviewer said. A passenger, Sunday blast, or add the baskets and trunk and travel Europe. Specs can be deceiving and the engine will be more than adequate for normal road conditions, accelerating faster than most cars out of traffic lights and also being happy with quick passing manoeuvres.

handling and braking 4 of 5

The brakes also work fine with one disc, but never with two. I imagine 2 fully loaded units would be better. Comfort is good considering this is a relatively "budget" bike.

Motor 4 of 5

You have to get used to driving an NC because it has low revs. I only use my DCT in manual mode as I like to be in control and use the best quick shift money can buy. I never touched the limiter as you can feel when to shift and use maximum torque. The gearbox on the 2021 is much better and more useful than the previous models, as the first and second did nothing. The 2021 has improved a lot, as its reviewer notes.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

it's a tie!! 8,000 mile / 12,000 km maintenance intervals which is very competitive.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

When you factor in the cost of fuel for 12,000km + maintenance costs, probably nothing can beat that. I drive a lot and the worst economy I get is 4L/100km.

equipment 4 of 5

It's a cheap bike. It has riding modes that I rarely use and I ride cables. The throttle cable on previous models was fine and you would hardly notice the difference. Always annoying, you have to pay extra for a main stand and the small screen is hard work and very loud above 100kmh. Equipment is decent and if you can get the extras like saddlebags, top box headlamps, hand warmers, etc. At a Honda bargain price, you'll be able to upgrade without breaking the bank.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

There are a few things that could be improved in terms of quality... the birthday clips look awful, dated and rusty. Horn indicator and switch are too close. I find myself honking. Honda could do better with the speedometer, which is below current standards, although I like the colors in the revs, I can only see them at dusk and in the dark. But I have to remind you that I paid £7,250 for a pre-registered bike, so you get what you pay for. All said, I love it.

I just got a new Honda NC750X and have driven it every 150 miles from the dealership to my house. My first impression is that this is an excellent mid-weight off-road bike. I traded the frantic Suzuki GS 1250 for the Honda because I suspected that riding the Suzuki would result in the loss of my driver's license sooner or later. I very much doubt the claim made in another review on this site that this Honda model would compete with the GS1250. I bought the Honda because Suzuki told me to speed it up and I did it in secret. So the Honda appears to be a joy to drive, well made and very well balanced. There's the temptation to pick up speed as you take corners with ease and confidence. However, the engine has a quiet charm and likes to purr, enjoying the road and countryside. Unlike the Suzuki, which wanted to go anywhere quickly. The Suzuki GS1250 was and still is an excellent motorcycle with a particularly good engine and gearbox. This Honda NC 750X also promises to be an excellent bike with a relatively quiet charm that can be enjoyed to great advantage in terms of quality, handling and comfort. While you'll sometimes miss out on the Suzuki's phenomenal acceleration and adrenaline rush, the Honda is generally a nicer ride. Bealach Na Ba is going up tomorrow. I can understand why the bike was so popular. It reminds me of my 2003 transalp but handles better.

Within 18 months/8000 miles the DCT started working. Driving in hot weather would continue. My local main dealer had trouble finding the problem as nothing came up in the diagnostics system. Honda instructed them to partially disassemble the gearbox, they replaced some parts but the problem remained. The tech used the bike for a week and felt it was the shifter motor. Once replaced, the issue was resolved. I sold the bike because I lost confidence. Things break, I'm aware of that, but it was the master dealer's inability to find the fault after having my bike for over a month. This really freaks me out, the company that designed and built a system cannot ignore it. Anyway, I liked the bike, but given the complexity of troubleshooting, there was no way I was going to have an out-of-warranty DCT.

Once out of warranty I service my own bikes, the NC has locknut style valve adjusters which is a home mechanic's dream.

Seating is a big problem. He leans forward slightly, so anything over 20 minutes means numb butt. I just had a modification to raise the front of the seat and it's better, but still not comfortable. Headlight and headlight are amazingly bright and better than my car on dark roads. Additional seats are not required. The brakes are good and more than adequate, the ABS is good and has been engaged several times with no problems. The low center of gravity really helps to get around the city and it handles traffic very well.

Motor 4 of 5

Great and it's fast, but not fast. very economical and has power to move around the city, but has difficulties on the highways. It sounds good and I only have the original exhaust, no road hum. The default screen makes a lot of wind noise, I've tried changing it a few times but I can't get any improvement. However, I'm 6ft tall so without the old American style windshield not much choice. It carries a passenger well and still has a lot of low growls.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

Minor corrosion on clutch cable selector and front forks are corroded. I wear mine all winter and it gets covered in salts, a quick wash and a spray of WD40 and it's always like new.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

I've had it for 2 years and have fixed everything myself, which is easy if you're comfortable with a wrench. Chain maintenance is not as easy as on previous bikes, the covers are easy to remove, but the derailleur and chain guard must be removed first. There are no coilover options for paddock mounting and the swingarm feels a little flimsy to drill for my taste.

equipment 5 of 5

ABS is great. The "frunk" is amazing and I don't know how I survived all these years without it, the drive throughs are back and it fits in my full face helmet which is a huge plus even when I wear the helmet it has the necessary cleats and chains ! It's great to go to work without a suitcase on your back. I have Scorpion Trail 2 tires and I'm not as confident on this bike as I was on my previous bikes. I haven't had any problems, but I don't have a lot of faith in it for unknown reasons. I just ordered a different brand of road tire and hope it gets better.

Shopping experience:I bought it privately from Autotrader and have had no problems with it other than standard maintenance and the addition of heated grips. The previous owner apparently spent a lot on tires, chain, sprockets, discs and pads at the main dealer. I bought it at 3.5 years old with 21,000 on the clock. It is now 5 years old with 35k and I just had a routine service done. No problem. He didn't miss a beat. There's a guy on a forum that has over 200,000km on one with no problems.

Brakes and suspension are a bit basic but adequate. DCT is great, but D-mode can struggle on hilly back roads at 50mph, much more lively and fun on the Sports-1, while still being great on fuel economy. Slightly inconsistent mix of cheaper/fancy pieces. Bought as cheap transport, but surprisingly fun as a bike. It still has quite a bit of character/sound. As much as I appreciate and like the bike, I can't say I love it or be proud of it, but funnily enough, that makes it even better as an everyday bike because you don't always want to ride it. Bad weather/winter conditions and crowded cities on a bike that is truly precious and special to you

handling and braking 4 of 5

The front suspension is a little rough and doesn't always exude the confidence in corners you'd expect from a bike like this. Thankfully, the front brake doesn't interfere with the suspension's boundaries as easily, though it still feels safe enough. While the bike is surprisingly heavy (only about 10kg lighter than the big BMWR1200RT I've owned before), it's easy to ride and quite comfortable too. The small screen works surprisingly well. Great all-rounder - just avoid track days :D

Motor 4 of 5

Effortlessly big torque, quite dynamic despite a long ride (just avoid D mode - bottom Sport 1 mode is perfect). It looks more powerful than it is; Particularly on the highways, where you can tell there isn't a lot of top-end power, but never a lack of power. It has a good V-Twin sound.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

A little messy, good deep paint on the tank and fenders, but very basic steel chains and pivot adjusters. After 15 km, large chunks of black paint came out of the exhaust, the rubber grips on the handlebars have already become thinner. Yes, very reliable.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Service from a master dealer is a little higher than you'd expect, but almost anything (including valve clearance) can be done as a do-it-yourself job.

equipment 5 of 5

Many practical functions. I don't know if I could ever get used to the fact that the bike doesn't have a trunk where the tank normally is :D The LED headlight is unexpected for a budget bike and it works very well. I would have preferred a simple but undeniably feature-rich analogue panel. Givi's racks and fenders soon begin to rust; It's better to spend a little more for higher quality items.

I also added some handlebar risers so I don't have to reach out and bend over. In fact, they helped make the seat and riding position more comfortable. Incredible fuel consumption, even at 120-140 km/h on my daily commute. Great bike for the road or for gravel or dirt roads. It handles well and has enough energy to get the job done.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

Used as a commuter and for light tourism, as a commuter economical and comfortable enough for half an hour to work and back, as a commuter it has good and bad sides, if you can fight the shock with the weight (180 kg / 28 stones ) and I had what to reduce! since he was very tough with the punches. The brakes need a good grip with two people, but it's a single disc so I can live with that, and with two people I'm more concerned about speed.

handling and braking 3 of 5

Suspension is cheap and tends to be a little stiff, I can change it, it might not depend on how much it goes down. That's it. However, you can swap out the pads for something with more bite!

Motor 5 of 5

The engine runs on DCT and even with 29 bricks on board it doesn't matter! The maximum torque is the same as the MT-07, but 1,750 rpm lower, and the differential is wide.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

Bought it in the fall of 2019 at 30k, now it's 36k a year later. I wash it with water in the winter and it's coated with ACF50, it washes decently with reasonable regularity and seems to be holding up well. I haven't seen any glitches and I don't expect it very soon as issues can arise as the mileage increases, but I'm aware of some high mileage bikes that look good. 4 of 5 A criminally underrated bike for real users.

Also:2019

The NC750 series has the potential to be any man's everything IF you can get past the spec sheet and its inherent flaws. It takes a little work to get to its best, but once you get there, I'm pretty sure there's virtually no better midweight bike when it comes to practicality and fun when you need it. The S version I have is better for little ones - I'm 5ft 5 and had a 2017 X DCT before this switch, the S definitely fits my frame better. However, the changes are relatively small, so you can follow your heart. Fuel economy is incredible, insurance rates are very low, and deals, especially for the S model, are often available.

handling and braking 4 of 5

The suspension is perhaps its weakest point, it's a key touch and you feel bumps and bumps in the road. This is compounded by the poor OEM seat, so I would consider an aftermarket gel insert or seat. SHADs are popular (and with what I chose!) Otherwise, the bike handles really well. It's very heavy for its size and power, around 210/220kg, but the weight is carried very low on the frame so it never feels too big. It's quite fun to guide it through the curves. Its real strength, in my opinion, is its unflinching stability, particularly the S model. The low squat weight means that even with a fully loaded saddlebag/luggage set, the bike is virtually immobile in highway winds. I installed a Puig touring screen which deflects the wind just as well as the X fairing I had previously. This is a really capable long distance drive, especially on 60/70mph highways. It's far more capable than any naked bike I've ridden before, and the economy rarely dips below 70mpg even at constant top speeds.

Motor 5 of 5

Excellent partner in the real world. Yes, it's only 54hp where its rivals outperform it by 20 or even 40hp, but whatever: it makes torque in abundance, meaning you can walk away from the lights with the best. Overtaking usually requires a downshift or two, but this is well dispensed with. Think of it as a lazy, torquey 500 and you're probably right about the horsepower, more than enough for almost any real ride. If you want imperious power, don't buy an NC! It also makes a very good sound that is greatly enhanced with an aftermarket exhaust.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

Excellent quality. It's a Honda and it's still made in Japan (although that should make a small difference, these bikes are built to last. Mine has lived outdoors largely uncovered and has virtually no marks. With the right polish and protection, this The engine is loosely related to the previous generation's Honda Jazz 1.5-liter gasoline engine, rated for 100,000 or more with minimal effort. Its low-revving ceiling and relatively simple mechanics make it very durable. of long-term durability.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

My Honda dealer is on the high end in terms of service but charges a flat fee - £189 whether it's less or more. So I think it probably pays off - of course it could stand on its own as the bike is mechanically simple and shouldn't present any difficulties for a good mechanic. Insurance is minimal, similar to a 300cc maxi scooter for a 26 year old with a 6 year NCB, and the fuel economy is the real feast of this bike. With a long, steady 50mph stretch like the currently speed limited M27, this bike can top around 100mpg, and even on my typical ride it averages around 83mpg according to fuel receipts. This is a mix of highway mileage and heavy off-road use. The taxes are relatively high as it's in the higher tax range, but overall it's still a very affordable bike. Keep an eye out for new and used deals! Especially with manuals, this bike tends to attract more car enthusiasts, and therefore manuals are very cheap.

equipment 4 of 5

The Honda is a little lackluster when it comes to basic equipment, but that also means there's not much that can go wrong. EFi, immobilizer with HISS ignition, manual damper adjustment, digital instrument cluster with gear indicator. That's really all, but you get what owners often call "frunk". While the fuel tank is normally a helmet-sized storage compartment, the 11 liter fuel tank is located under the seat. That storage space alone might be enough for a day trip or two, and will certainly fit several full-face helmets. My helmet has a visor so it doesn't fit me well, but regardless it's still a handy place to shop or pack. Honda's range of accessories is extensive: a central support for chain maintenance is essential. Otherwise, you can specify to your heart's content. I would recommend aftermarket in many cases especially luggage and heated grips as they are much cheaper.

Shopping experience:Purchased from a dealer. Center stand, heated oxford grips have been added as extras and the total price has been deducted £700 from the list price. Mine is a black/tan model that looks extremely rare, so I think it was a "discount to leave the store" deal, but I don't care. It was also delivered free (!) from Manchester to Southampton. Relatively pain free and my local dealer treated me well during the service.

This is my first big bike after passing my test so I didn't want anything with insane acceleration, I wanted exactly what this bike has, a comfortable riding position, you sit high and forward, good visibility, turning and riding very well and it is building my confidence very well. The combination of traction control and abs also builds confidence, I love the frunk, when I go shopping I can put my load there without carrying a bag, I had my boots, chain, disc lock, helmet in there. I love this bike! Great learner and I have heard that many older people have switched to the DCT as their body parts also wear out and appreciate the friendly torque and smooth in-ear switching.

handling and braking 4 of 5

I only ride mine a few hours at a time tops so my bum hurts but I think I could replace the seat with an air model only other complaint is the feet are too high so your legs shrink. below you, and if you have long legs they hurt after a while, but we're not talking about sportbike territory, so it's livable. The brakes are very strong and have a nice light progressive feel and the abs worked well on wet roads or when I brushed against a drain cover in a corner, I also noticed that the traction control kicked in at that point which gave me the feeling of have relaxed. He.

Motor 5 of 5

Good solid engine, don't expect any issues with it, Honda added a Lextek carbon muffler to mine for me and it adds a sweet deep sound to it but you can really hear that nice parallel twin fire when you accelerate and it sounds like a machine gun retreating, loved it! It's great at low speeds and the gears have a nice smooth chime that lets you know you're in and the clutch is very forgiving while stopping and stopping when testing the CB650R.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

It's a Honda built for reliability!

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

The fuel economy on this bike is incredible, I get 70-75 mpg depending on how much I ride it. It just needs maintenance, the cost of insurance for the first year was high which seems excessive, it's like it's a 750 sportbike and not a regular bike.

equipment 4 of 5

I added the comfort package that is essential for me and includes heated grips, hand guards, 12 volt outlet and center stand. I love the lcd screen, wish it had the windshield on the cb500x that lifts up.

Shopping experience:Bought a hire from Maidstone Honda in Kent, booked an afternoon for a test drive, they are not far from the a228 and m20 so the location is excellent with lots of country roads close by to keep the balance. The team knew exactly what they were talking about and gave me all the available options and offers.

The perfect city bike; Honda made this for a specific demographic: those who ride their bikes every day and want a solid bike that does everything exceptionally well and who have neither the need nor desire to speed to the moon and pull wet wool. Mechanically simple, but with just the right amount of technology (multi-level traction control that can be deactivated with a switch; economy, sport and manual modes, brakes coupled with ABS). Low fuel consumption and low operating costs (SOHC with easy access screw valve adjusters on front heads). DCT changes like a dream. I've ridden everything from 80cc scooters to 1.8 liter Goldwings; For me, the perfect everyday bike.

This is the best bike I've ever owned, it's absolutely superb. It is extremely stable, yet has great handling. It's comfortable and easy to drive, with great road presence. The engine has character, plenty of torque and, to top it off, is super economical. DCT is absolutely brilliant with different modes to suit your mood, needs, traffic or roads. As a bonus, it makes the bike safer if you feel you have more time to focus on traffic, braking and cornering, or if it's safe to do so, more time to enjoy the view. I don't like the name "Frunk", but you'll quickly forgive it because it's so useful. Although not everyone likes this bike when you probably will.

Having returned to cycling after 28 years I needed a day commuter as the M25 and A1M are a joke and I often spent 2 hours cycling 42 miles! I tried the NC750 manual and thought it was fun but when I was young I broke both legs on the Honda 400-F and found my left hip was starting to hurt along with my ankle so I went for that DCT - it makes a huge difference to me My driving comfort! The best thing I like is the Twist and Go, with flexible paddles to give a little bit of control over the ride, which makes my life easier. I would recommend this bike to someone who is new to cycling or looking to get back on the bike after a long break as you won't be accelerating faster than you think or blinking as it's a DCT you're on. and filter queues of cars and trucks and take more time to enjoy the environment and driving.

handling and braking 5 of 5

The brakes and ride quality are very good, the bike handles very well and is very forgiving if you mess up. My commute to work takes 40-70 minutes and my butt gets numb and my tailbone hurts too when I get off the bike. This isn't unique to the NC though, it's common on most bikes (this is what I've read).

Motor 4 of 5

One of the scariest things about this bike is the DCT itself. On a couple of occasions I would start to spin in the corners or roundabouts and as soon as I got to the corner the transmission would shift and make you drift towards the bank or the edge of the roundabout, not the best feeling I've had in the corners. I broke my legs after the kill switch failed in a corner and the engine died, locking rear wheel drive and sending my feet forward into a wall. To overcome this, I use the flapper paddle to corner or put it in sport mode for control. On the highway or on a straight road, the DCT transmission excels.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

I've only had it for 2 weeks, I've put it on 460 miles and found it to be reliable and the quality seems good for a very cheap bike.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

My journey takes me from Hertfordshire to Uxbridge - a journey of around 84 to 100 miles a day, I have a 2 liter diesel.

equipment 4 of 5

Why isn't there a main stand? Why is there no additional 12V outlet? It's meant to be a touring bike, but it costs more money if you want it, so it's not great, everything else is there IMO. I have Bridgestone tires and they seem to hold the road just fine, my last motorcycle tires were TT100 and they were average, these seem to be better but technology has progressed since the 90's.

Shopping experience:Bought quite a lot so my shopping experience was good - the Honda guys in Letchworth did me proud with a pre-registered new 2017 NC DCT 0 mile model for £2000 less than what I was looking to buy. DCT 2018.

Excellent bike, I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to ride in the city. very comfortable bike and a very practical bike. Lots of low-end torque where you need it most for road riding. I tested it back-to-back with the cb500x and found that the little cb was underpowered and had to be stretched to get the best out of it. Well, for a trip to central London on the A-Roads, that's not good. Then I tried the 750x, the seller said it was like a kettle, well I loved it. I felt safe, very stable and planted, and it has low torque, which I like and find most useful on the road. It is also more present than the 500, and unlike the MCN classification, the CB 500 is not in the same league. Go out and try one and see for yourself, I've seen plenty of people drive around London over the years and there are plenty of good reasons to do so. Store your favorite sport bike or bareback for those nice dry days, also let this bike take you to work and shopping etc. You'll be amazed at what it can do in the right hands. Get through the winter, wear hand guards and heated grips, and enjoy the best commute for less than a zone 1-4 ticket, not to mention the cost of train tickets! for running, high fuel consumption, etc. as practical and useful as any scooter with more power and less attractive to thieves.

handling and braking 4 of 5

Brakes are adequate, obviously not comparable to the Brembo M50s, but you're not using a Fireblade either, so it's all relative. Plenty of space for a passenger, comfortable as both seats are quite comfortable.

Motor 4 of 5

It's nice and smooth, too smooth for a good torquey twin. There's no top end, all the power pours out, which is good for highway driving. I also have a CBR 600F and since all its power is high it is rarely used on the road, mostly commuting. Try it and see if it works for you.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

Bike well assembled, looks well made and solid. (Reliability) So far so good, but I'm at the beginning of my fortune. I haven't seen many complaints from other owners. At the end of the day, it's a Honda and they're well built. I heard from a Honda mechanic that the 750 is a huge improvement over the 700. So if you're buying used, get a 750.

Hard to fault. "Tank" storage is great with a 12V accessory socket in a safe, waterproof place to charge your phone, camera or sat nav. The original tires are terrible. Replace them with Micheln Road Pilot 4 and the bike transforms. Suspension is a little stiff for an "adventure" style bike, not that you'd ride it off-road! I have several collector bikes and bought this new bike to use on a 75 mile round trip through south London to Westminster. In every way, this bike does everything I ask it to. The tires have a dubious reputation, but as I ride softer than most I haven't had any issues, although they are a little hard on the sidewalls. The only real concern I have is that after the first 300 miles the bike has developed a worrying tendency to stall (3 times so far). That was less than half the acceleration power (on a bike that makes far less power than my ZX-12). As I intend to ride this bike for the next 3 years and rack up a lot of miles this is a huge concern and I am speaking with Honda about it.

handling and braking 5 of 5

The bike handles city traffic pretty well (filtered) and highway cruising is good up to 90, although I'm more likely to stick around 70-75. On-screen turbulence is an issue, especially when following tall vehicles. The brakes are very good and the ABS in the rain can be a life saver, especially when a Divvi suddenly dies.

Motor 4 of 5

Transmission issues aside, the engine does what it was designed to do. A helpful worker.

Shopping experience:I bought this bike from Hunts of Manchester, purchase and delivery was correct. Things went wrong when I was stopped by an ANPR unit in London. He was suspected of stealing a bicycle and using false license plates. Turns out when Hunts originally confirmed the index number to me, I fixed the insurance, the Honda contract paperwork was all over, all on the license plate with the wrong number, hence the reason I got kicked out. The registration number actually belonged to a 125cc Honda motorcycle. I didn't realize it until I checked the V5 again (it was a letter). He was effectively riding his bike without insurance. Hunts sent me an email with a one-line apology and a postmark, which he delayed because he had to convince the police to avoid prosecution. Buy from Hunts again? ... probably not ...

I've been riding a bike for about 50 years. Everything from a C50 to a GSXR supercar and just about everything in between. I did the ego trip, S. "My bike is faster than yours" and it was faster than some and not as fast as others. I did the daily commute, the long distance commute, the weekend commute, and the tour. Bicycles and I have a history. I love bicycles, I love to ride a bicycle, if it has two wheels and an engine I want to try it. My last bike a Triumph Sprint ST was a lot of fun, fast, great handling and comfortable to ride, but most of the time I was on the road at cool speeds even on tour, not in Europe now I'm in New Zealand and I passed most of my trip containing it. Despite being a very good bike, it kind of didn't suit me: there I was on a fast bike that, when not on track day, had potential I would never use... an Als Suddenly, inspired by practicality, I bought a bike that suited the environment I was riding in, an NC750X. Yes, I know all the journalists' opinions that this is a bike not to be taken seriously, after all it only has 54 hp. True, but it makes horsepower at much lower rpm than just about any other bike, so it has a good amount of torque. If the rider can adjust their ears not to associate engine noise with fast going, but instead correlate throttle position with road going, this bike is very capable of traveling - beyond highways, of course. , daily commutes and, if desired, driving license-threatening speeds . If you keep pushing the rev limiter, you're missing the point of this bike. Its handling is good, it doesn't turn smoothly, you have to look ahead and adjust accordingly, but once you fix that you can rub the edges of the rims. It's not a super sport, but it's fun to get the most out of your bike. The stock suspension is good, hits potholes mid-corner and has no problem, doesn't squirm, handles admirably. I don't think I'm going to write this, but it does what it promises. If you're looking for an affordable, durable, and reliable all-terrain bike that can go anywhere, even on gravel roads, get a Honda NC750X. I've already ridden a few thousand kilometers and found that I walk much more than the Sprint. I think I will keep this bike for a while.

It has to be the worst motorcycle engine ever made. It will probably last 5 decades as it does not generate electricity. This is the most fun bike ever! Bikes need to get faster to have fun. No speed = no fun. Take the motor out and use it as an anchor and put in a motor that zooms and spins at at least 8000 rpm and makes 4-8K of power. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to drive for the sake of driving. The best qualities in my opinion are the engine, abs, storage and economy, and let's not forget the amazing touch on the Akrapovic exhaust with the deflector removed. This thing keeps driving. I'm sitting there with a smile from ear to ear. The only downside is that if the forks are struggling to soak up small waves, your hindquarters will re-vent their control (I found out by accident) and we all make mistakes but now we get it", famous last words "aaaa-crunch but hopefully no. Perfectly complements my CBR300R.

I had clocked 140 non-stop miles so far and was ready to rest. It may have a gel seat insert, but no complaints. the most expensive touring cars become a headache after 150 non-stop miles. I can't say when it's at its best, I think it works in the city, I love it on country roads too, which gets better as I turn the valve back, it's great for cruising too.

Motor 5 of 5

All torque and no action, it pulls out of corners beautifully, motorcycling has over 190 horsepower at 12,000 rpm and 0 to 190 mph and for a quicker stop than you can unscrew the coffin lid. So far I've gotten 69 - 84mpg, I haven't revved it past 4000rpm but other than the little pops they make and there, I don't want you guys to get bored, I'm not going to show you that the full berries give 1000+ miles.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

I've given full marks here, but I have to admit I've only had the bike for 3 weeks, but from my experience it's a Honda and I only buy Hondas. I've owned over 100 bikes over the last 35 years, and out of all the different ones, Honda puts it ahead of all others when it comes to build quality, attention to detail, paintwork, and durability.

Shopping experience:Dealer traded in my brand new '99 CBR1000FX which only had 10,000 miles on it. Advantages: It can be processed very well. very easy to assemble. Although the bike is heavy (~240kg) the weight is very light and therefore I find it lighter than my previous Honda Hornet 600cc (~170kg). I love the very smooth DCT transmission and the choice of Drive, Sport and Manual modes. Cons: Wish there was 10-20 hp more. Would definitely recommend unless you need something really powerful, in which case buy a different bike. The reason I switched to the NC from the Honda Hornet was because the Hornet had 100 hp and 13,000 rpm which I never used. NC is also cheaper. I get about 70mpg out of town and 50-60mpg in town.

handling and braking 5 of 5

Breaks are great. Quite comfortable ride quality. I prefer the seated position on the NC over the recumbent position on other bikes. Due to my back problems, I can only walk for about an hour before I feel any discomfort, but with my Airhawk seat I can still walk for an hour or two without stopping. It's a very decent all-rounder that rules out the heavy traffic of central London. Sometimes it's too wide to fit in small gaps between cars (something scooters do).

Motor 5 of 5

I like the low torque and power delivered (even for such a heavy bike), although an extra 10 or 20 hp would be nice. 3rd and 4th gears are best. The DCT gear is very smooth, although in slow and heavy traffic I use the manual mode for filtering as the bike tends to do a lot of downshifts between 1 and 2.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

I have for 2 years. So far no corrosion. The build quality is excellent. Never let me down before. In 17,000 miles I have only changed tires (once) and chain and sprockets.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Honda service always tends to be higher than other brands. The 500-mile and 8,000-mile services cost around £200 each. My most recent 16k service was £350 but I looked at other non-Honda shops offering £300-500 for the same job. Non-DCT is slightly cheaper as there is 1 less filter to change. I ended up using Honda in Romford (excellent service, highly recommend) as Honda was more expensive in Ruislip and Chiswick and the reviews weren't as good. Other than the service and additional conversions, I didn't trade anything. The TÜV is a little high. 600cc and below are much cheaper. Insurance is fine. not too expensive but not too cheap either. This year it cost me around £350.

I really like the helmet holder, which I mainly use for everything else (tools, raincoat, gloves, etc.) because I also have a helmet case. I also like the standard ABS.

Best qualities: easy to drive, amazing fuel economy, attractive trunk, comfortable and practical, perfect handling at low revs. Worst features: Plastic lids are annoying. No "window" to monitor oil level, making oil check painful, rev limiter brutal

handling and braking 5 of 5

Very comfortable for short and medium distance trips. My individual ride is usually around 70 km and I feel good and relaxed on it. Perhaps the sidestand could be more stable. Breaks are perfectly fine.

Motor 5 of 5

Extreme fuel economy, great low-rpm manners. The bike feels right at home at low revs.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

The overall build quality appears to be quite satisfactory. Except for the plastic lids, which are…well…too plastic. The windshield is almost unusable, but sexy :-) So far, no signs of rust, no oil consumption, breakdowns, etc. Overall, it's a reliable machine (1.5 years, 6K on the clock).

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Excellent fuel economy! almost unbelievable. My average off-road consumption is around 3.3 l/100 km.

equipment 5 of 5

The "fake" tank is a great idea. Although I always tend to pour a little gas on the bike at gas stations due to the awkward position of the tank cap. It has 2 partial odometers, average and total consumption, clock, the monitor is very well lit. ABS as standard, immobilizer (HISS) etc. The average user lacks nothing.

I rode the Honda ST1100 for about 15 years before switching to the NC750X. Both bikes are hard to fault; but I welcome the switch to a lighter machine. Before I set my Garmin Zumo to avoid dirt roads, I now had that avoidance feature turned off on my GPS with the NC.

Do you mostly use your bike or do you pose on it? If you're the former, this is the bike for you. Maximum utility, both on and off road. Inexpensive, powerful enough (I rarely miss the license-threatening power boost of my previous supermoto once a month), comfortable and easy to ride.

Excellent finish, easy and comfortable driving and very economical in terms of fuel consumption. I find the "fake fuel tank" very useful, a great idea as I'm not a big fan of saddlebags. I would recommend this bike to any rider who isn't a speed freak, although I was more than happy with the speeds I reached and still had plenty.

handling and braking 5 of 5

A decent off-road bike. I recently ran 60 miles nonstop and had knee surgery.

Motor 5 of 5

The bike does everything I ask it to. Easy to ride, comfortable and like a "cobby" bike, it corners well and has good balance.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

The bike is a typical Honda, well built, never let me down until today.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Fuel costs are very low and I'm very happy with that. My insurance costs for comprehensive insurance are £88 a year

equipment 5 of 5

I like the choice of manual or automatic transmission. It has a comfortable driving position and the "fake gas tank" is a great idea. I'm not a fan of saddlebags.

Shopping experience:I bought the bike from Colwyn Bay Motorcycles who are Honda dealers. I'm glad I did as I had some concerns about the automatic transmission. The dealers were very professional and put my mind at ease, they went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the bike before leaving me on the road. This added to the joy of the bike. As part of the deal they added very useful hand warmers and center stand and lowered the seat height for me. I paid a little less than the advertised price which was an added bonus. The ladies who processed my purchase were very knowledgeable and kind and yes, very beautiful which is always a plus!

A good mid-range bike. It looks high quality and feels good to drive. Not super powerful, but fast enough for the real world. Very useful for travel, etc., but probably not exciting enough for everyone. It has an unfair reputation for being a bit of a bore - it holds its own against comparable competitor bikes (e.g. Versys 650). Overall I'm very happy.

handling and braking 4 of 5

I find the seat a little uncomfortable on longer trips and the screen could be a little bigger. There's a pretty big gap between fifth and sixth gear; In sixth gear, the engine never feels very comfortable, in my opinion; It seems that it is difficult to pull a little. Brakes are effective but nothing great but the bike is equipped with ABS which is nice to have. Seat height is adequate.

Motor 4 of 5

A decent speed spin. Not super fast, but fast enough in the real world, especially 0-60. Get out just before saying 75 mph. However, when the rev limiter intervenes, it may surprise you: you will feel an immediate loss of power, which is very annoying. Engine vibration is very well dampened for a twin, much better than the Versys 650 I tested. However, the engine doesn't feel particularly robust.

Reliability and build quality 4 of 5

So far nothing has gone wrong, but we are still at the beginning. There was a recall due to a possible problem with the storage compartment latch. A small plastic ring that was supposed to keep the small compartment closed at the bottom of the storage box gave way, but that's not a big deal. It appears to be well built overall and there are no signs of corrosion so far.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

I don't drive particularly efficiently; I mostly travel 7 miles to work and back in traffic so I doubt there's much of a chance the engine will warm up. Still, I get just under 15mpg. That must be worth something to the cost of driving a bike with a 750cc engine.

equipment 4 of 5

There's the well-known fake gas tank storage area, which is very handy - you can get a full face helmet or a full shopping bag there. It has a gear indicator, clock and fuel gauge, but it doesn't come with extras, which is not surprising at this price point. There are many accessories available on the secondary market. The fuel tank could be a few gallons larger - it should be full after about 140 miles (when it hits the last bar on the fuel gauge), with a few gallons more capacity it could be 30 more. Miles or more before you need to fill up.

4 of 5 It doesn't stand out but it generates more love for me because it is very reliable, cheap and USEFUL.

I would certainly recommend. I was a newer rider so I bought it as it's often described as great for the less experienced, but now that I've tested (and owned) a few more bikes I don't feel it should be limited to the beginner crowd, it continues In many areas, my it's a standard manual, not a DCT, and I have nothing but praise for it. It's economical even when driven hard and hasn't had any reliability issues. The 'frunk' storage is a fantastic feature meaning I can take my locks, gloves and balaclava anywhere without thinking about it and I'm always prepared when the weather changes. Plus, I can do a pretty decent grocery run on the way home without needing a bag or spoiling the look with a cardboard lid. I use it daily to go 66 miles each direction and it is comfortable, economical and forgiving in all conditions. I have also been on tour and found it really excellent for that purpose. I didn't give it 5/5 overall as I think it should have come with a better screen, but I simply swapped it out for a better one. And maybe I have to agree that it's not the most exciting bike in the world, it doesn't rev a lot (you hit the limiter every now and then) and it's a little slow, but really, who needs to do more than 100km/h? Perhaps you could call it Volvo's bike heritage: reliable, easy to ride, more storage than others and easy to carry in your wallet. But also reasonable. What I did was use this as my daily driver and buy a used CBR for weekend fun.

A bike that does everything right, you can ride it at full speed without worrying about a high-speed collision or losing your license. A quality, all-weather rideable bike with good build quality and surprisingly cheap - 90+ mpg can easily be achieved. Good maintenance intervals at 8000 miles, but Honda dealer service is a little pricey.

handling and braking 4 of 5

The suspension is cheap and can get bumpy on rough roads at high speeds, but it's never that bad. The brakes are good, although the rear ABS often kicks in because the rear brake feels a little stiff.

Motor 5 of 5

Gentle, lazy and relaxing. Even if you push yourself to the limit and want to accelerate, you will never feel stressed. It can be a little snappy below 2000 revs, but that's true of most twins. Mirrors, pins and bars remain vibration free at all speeds.

Reliability and build quality 5 of 5

In over 28,000 miles in the first year, nothing has failed or stopped working, not even a light bulb! Zero oil consumption, just get in and go. It shows some wear and tear, with some rust on the washers and screws, but what would you expect after being out all winter and living outdoors? The paint and chrome still looks good.

Value x Competitors 5 of 5

Still has the original chain/sprockets and brake pads after 28,000 miles in the first year. Tires last 10-12,000 miles (rear) and 12-14,000 miles front. Honda maintenance is expensive, but they keep the warranty in case you need it. Best economy achieved was 104mpg, worst 54mpg, but typical consumption is 85-90mpg on my normal commute.

equipment 5 of 5

I love the tank under the passenger seat, it provides loads of storage where the tank would normally be. I installed center stand, Givi Highscreen, heated grips, Bark-Buster hand guards, fenders and fender extenders that add functionality to the bike.

Shopping experience:Purchased new from a premier dealer in Honda's PCP range. £1,300 deposit, £99 per month for 3 years and a final payment of £1,500 make this package affordable.

July 29, 2014 from Petervoros

I've had this bike since mid-March. I've only ridden about 1000 miles so far because I have a different bike (Harley Fat Bob). I had a 700X-DCT which was fine, but this one has noticeable improvements. Turn-and-go simplicity, D-mode for economy and S-mode for speed. , there is also a manual mode that I never use. In town, you're king with a good angle and you're out of line before others fix your shifter and clutch. The seat was not to my liking so I bought a replacement seat (Sargent). The only thing I would like to change is the selection button on the bars instead of pressing the button on the panel. It's not a road bike, but it's fast enough for everything I need it to do. Handling is smooth and sure, easy at low speeds. I'm getting up to 70 per gallon. With plenty of luggage options available, this bike makes a great mid-size commuter or commuter bike. I change my bikes regularly, but this one is a keeper because it's so easy to ride. Maintenance intervals are 8000 miles and with the good mpg it is a great value bike to maintain.

I just received my "S" version. I would have loved the "X" but very vertically challenged! This bike is fun and hassle free. I have the DCT version and in Auto or Manual it's a pleasure to drive. You'll never win a race at a stoplight, but who cares; will win everything else. Honda got it right :)
